About & Submission Policy

Meridian9 is a web directory built on the logic of a library card catalog. Every site in the directory has been reviewed and placed in a subject drawer, with a short descriptive card filed alongside it. The aim is a reference resource that is easy to navigate, clearly organised, and free of the clutter that accumulates in less disciplined collections. The directory holds 833 entries across 22 subject sections. These sections run from broad classifications — such as the General Accession, which holds 189 entries — to more focused drawers such as the Documents & Records Stack, which currently holds eight entries filed under a narrow subject heading. Each section is sized by accession volume, not by editorial preference. Entries are reviewed before they are added to Meridian9. This means the directory grows more slowly than an open, unreviewed submission system, but each card that appears in the catalog has been assessed and deemed appropriate for the classification it is filed under. The review process is manual and is applied to every submission without exception. Meridian9 accepts submissions from any business, service, or information site that fits one of the 22 subject classifications. Submission is free and is made through the form found on any page of this directory. Once submitted, a listing is placed in a queue for review; if accepted, it is accessioned into the relevant drawer. If a listing does not fit a specialist section, it is considered for the General Accession. The directory does not guarantee placement and reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet its classification criteria or that duplicate an entry already on file. Meridian9 is maintained as a single-language, English-only reference.
